Alysia has been the goal keeper for the C.W.S.C. ( H.S.A. ) Velocity team for
several seasons now. Alysia played her High School soccer at Franklin County
High School in Indiana. She is a multi sport athlete for Franklin County, and
excelled at each sport she participated in. Yet her real love was soccer, and
boy has she excelled at it! Her Velocity team, won league play and tournament
play continually, and in those numerous winning seasons, in near 80% of their
matches, their opponents were help to clean sheets. She was a BIG part of making
this happen. Wanting to be the best she can in her position, she not only worked
hard every team session, she attended yearly camps at Indiana University, Notre
Dame, Purdue and several others.
Alysia was a part of one of three groups from her Velocity team that continually
won the Got Milk, and Kick It 3 v 3 events in the Cincinnati area, and several
other states. Alysia's drive in this game was evident from the first time she
walked on to the playing surface with the Velocity team. She was such a positive
force to all around her. Because of the manner in which Alysia went about
bettering herself as a player, being a team committed player, helping her team
mates become better players, she was a natural choice as team Captain of her
velocity team. This is one of the most deserving, hard working, dedicated
players I have seen and been blessed to work with in my long tenure as a coach.
Alysia has chosen Cedarville over a 'Host' of other schools. She had
countless schools at every range recruiting her to sign at their school. She was
voted MVP at Soccer camps at Div. 1 schools, Coastal Carolina, Mars Hill, and
couple others I just cant bring to mind. Alysia was heavily recruited, and even
though the appeal of many Division 1 schools were enticing, she wanted that
small home town feel in the college she was going to sign with, and for it to be
a Christian based college if possible. Cedarville is soon to become a Division 2
school. And I am sure she will help them advance in play and to be a better
team simply by just being a part of their squad. Congratulations Alysia! Dreams
can come true!
