Speed and Agility Training

We are proud to announce that CWSC is partnering with Rex Currin’s The Edge
Speed and Agility Conditioning and Training.  As outlined below, CWSC players
will receive a discounted rate to participate in this program.  The program is
open to players of all ages and soccer skill levels within CWSC.
 
The Edge is a demonstrated, experienced program with successful proven results
by local high school and college student athletes in many sports including
soccer.  As we know, soccer is a game of skill and strategy, but speed and
agility are key components to improving every player’s effectiveness and game
ability.  Being quicker, faster and more agile than your opponent are critical
to being as successful as possible on the pitch, especially at the higher
competitive levels and older age groups.  The Edge can help many of our players
work on gaining their edge in these areas.
 
Rex Currin is a long-time coach at the high school, grade school, and junior
college levels for over 20 years, and is currently the varsity baseball coach at
Elder High School.  Dan Donovan, one of our incoming spring 2010 coaches and
local high school soccer coach also works with Rex in the program.
 
 
   CWSC  /  The Edge Speed and Agility Conditioning and Training Program
 
The Edge Speed & Agility Conditioning program consists of the following
areas of speed and agility development:

     Lateral Speed
                    Straight Ahead Speed
                                   Over-Speed Training 
                                                  Explosive Speed Training
                                                                 Footwork Agility 
                                                                                Change of Direction Agility

      Training sessions consist of  4 or 5 instructed circuits:

Agility Ladders    Dot Pads       Parachutes     Speed Cones     Sparq Hurdles  
Harness    Jump Ropes       etc.
 

   When, Where, How:
 
     First session runs from January 4, 2010 and ends February 24, 2010 
(8 week session)

Additional sessions will be scheduled in the future)

 Monday – Tuesday - Wednesdays, from 6:30-7:30pm.

 Location is on Delhi Pike

Players can attend 1, 2 or all 3 sessions each week of the 8 total weeks

That is a possible maximum total of 24 sessions if player trains 8
weeks 3x a week, or 16 sessions total if player trains 2x a week.
 

  Cost for 8 week session is $90 per CWSC player, a 10% discount. 


         So, if CWSC player trains 3x a week, which is less that $4 per workout.
If CWSC player trains 2x a week, that is less than $6 per workout.
 

There is also a CWSC team rate and discount.  If 10 or more players
from the same CWSC team participate the cost is $75 per CWSC player.
