CLUB GUEST PLAYERS: The Operations Committee approved
the continuation of the use club guest players, with the following
revisions: (1) a club guest player must be rostered to a team
playing in the CUSL fall or spring league; (2) no player rostered to
a First Division team may guest for a team in its own age group in a
less competitive division; (3) a player rostered to a First Division
team may only guest for an older team in its club that plays in the
First or Second Division; (4) a player not rostered to a First
Division team cannot guest for a team in its own age group that
plays in more than two less competitive divisions; (5) a club guest
player must present his/her player pass prior to the match; without
it, the player is not permitted to play; (6) a team violating a club
guest player rule will forfeit the match .... NOTE: IT IS A COACH'S
RESPONSIBILITY, PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE MATCH, TO DETERMINE
THE TEAM USING THE CLUB GUEST PLAYER IS COMPLYING WITH CLUB GUEST
PLAYER RULES. THEREFORE, THE TEAM USING THE CLUB GUEST PLAYER MUST
BE ABLE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION NECESSARY FOR THE OPPOSING COACH TO
DETERMINE COMPLIANCE WITH THE RULES; IN THE ABSENSE OF SUCH
INFORMATION, THE PLAYER CANNOT GUEST.... BECAUSE A RULES VIOLATION
CAN EASILY BE ASCERTAINED PRIOR TO THE MATCH, A PROTEST THAT A RULE
WAS VIOLATED CANNOT BE BROUGHT .... the preceding rules, when in
conflict, shall take precedence over club guest player rules posted
elsewhere.

DIVISION PROMOTION AND RELEGATION: Last year, the Board of
Governors approved the decision of the Operations Committee to go to
six-team first divisions for U-11 and older teams, with U-11s
playing in that format this spring, and all ages in fall, 2008. It
was understood that going to that format could affect team promotion
and relegation since eight or nine team first divisions of the
spring would now be six. Obviously, this would have has a domino
affect on the lesser competitive divisions of an age group We say it
could, rather than would, affect team movement because some teams
will be moving from CUSL to a premier league. So while, at first, it
would appear there is no room for second division teams to move to
the first, the loss of teams to a premier league would, in fact,
open places for them. In each of the oldest age groups, the number
of teams participating will determine its format.
Dear Member
CUSL Club;
For your information the Kolping Soccer Club and the American
Soccer Club have
merged into a new organization which is the Kolping-ASC Soccer
Club.
They submitted a request to submit an application for membership
into CUSL -
which was approved. Last night at a Board of Governors
Meeting, their
application for membership was approved and they have notified
us that they will
accept our offer of membership and begin play this fall in CUSL
as a member
club.
