Player Profiles
Our entire club is
very proud of this page of our website. This page recognizes the
ever-growing list of Cincinnati West Soccer Club’s young adults who
have moved on to the ultimate next step after great careers with
CWSC: playing college soccer. As you can see, in just our few
years of existence, we have established a solid and successful
program that results in our players receiving scholarships and
opportunities to play and attend college through out the region and
even beyond to the national level. Our unique, soccer development
program for all levels of players allows players to move-up as their
skills develop and their interests also develop.
Playing college
soccer is not the top priority for many of our current players, but
for those who have the aspiration, commitment and dedication, the
path from the CWSC pitch to the college soccer pitch is a great
one.
Current CWSC
players, especially high school age players, and parents who are
interested in possible college soccer opportunities and how the
process works are encouraged to contact our Director of Coaching,
Bill Spraul. Our College Soccer Information Program is available to
our high school age teams and coaches should contact Bill Spraul to
schedule your team’s participation.

On Saturday May 16, 2009 CWSC presented our Playing in
College and Recruiting Information Workshop at the Harrison Soccer Complex.
This informative and interactive workshop provided CWSC players and their
parents the opportunity to both receive information about the college soccer
experience, but to ask questions of the process from a panel of experts. With
over 50 CWSC players in over 33 different colleges and universities, CWSC has a
proven track record for helping our players through the process and reaching the
next level, and finding great ways to make college educations more affordable
through soccer.
Our club has a unique ability in that we were able to
use our CWSC coaching and training staff to create a remarkable, diverse panel
for this workshop, including the Director of Coaching, current and former
college players, current college coaches Bryan Warman and Keith Combs, men’s and
women’s coaches at Cincinnati Christian University respectively, club coaches
who have placed players into college programs and Ski Vaught of College
Prospects of America (CPOA). Thanks to our panelists for their time and
information, and thanks to our attendees.
The
Facts and Myths of College
Soccer and Recruiting the
Tips for Players
handouts and a
Sample College Profile from the Workshop are now available for CWSC players and
families. As Director of Coaching, I am available to our high school age teams
as are other panelists to provide more detailed guidance to our players.
