Ski Vaught
D, E, and F Coaching Licenses.
* 1982: I started coaching
S.A.Y. soccer in Harrison and surrounding areas.
* Guided first H.S.A. Seniors / Minors team to state play offs.
* 1990 - 1998: After years of coaching S.A.Y. soccer, I was awarded
my first Select team, the Harrison Thoroughbreds girls team! I
coached the Thoroughbreds from the ages of U11 through U19. We had a
very good share of success, which saw many of our players sign
scholarships and playing soccer college. This was a great learning
opportunity for me. I wish I had known then for those players what
time has allowed me to learn for the players I coach / train these
days.
* 1998 - 1999 I was asked to join the (then) Montfort Heights Girls
Lightning team coached by Mr. Craig Baston. The Lightning made good
head way and had its success during that time. The Lightning under
Craig became the C.W.S.C. Lightning and had a great deal of
continued success. Thanks Craig!
* 2000 (Spring) - Present? I took on the head coaching position of
the U11 West Side Velocity Girls team. After my first season with
the team at West Side I was granted to move the girls to Harrison
Soccer. And it has 'Nothing' to do with the folks at West side.
I felt badly about this move but I just have been a part of H.S.A.
for years. The C.W.S.C. ( Harrison ) Velocity squad has 8 players
currently playing college soccer, most with very nice scholarships,
and there are 3 players that are Seniors at this time getting allot
of college recruiting attention and will most likely sign.
* Among other duties I enjoyed with H.S.A. I was the Director
Coaches and Player development for several years. With the help of,
and guidance of OSYSA / TCYSA I made coaches clinics available
constantly. We were awarded and hosted a 'D' license clinic held in
Harrison in my last months tenure as director. In my tenure as the
director at H.S.A. we helped over 150 coaches as future coaches
during that time achieve license from the G to D levels.
* Playing experience. Very little. As an accomplished musician and
baseball player I took to the beautiful game years past my High
School days. But I have, and do continually study and work very hard
to make myself knowledgeable in all aspects f the game. I did play
several indoor sessions to make sure to get the feel of what players
go through and to get a bit comfortable with the ball at my feet.
Oddly enough, but luckily, through associations I played indoor on a
teams with several of the local college coaches and trainer for the
Lady Hawks and River Hawks.
* In the Fall of 2007 I was honored to be accepted as a guest
trainer for our C.W.S.C. and I have been enjoying the many guest
sessions and the fine people I have met in doing such.
* And I am proud to currently be the trainer for the U11 C.W.S.C.
Heartbreakers girls team, coached by Mr Kevin Schwieterman, and Mrs.
Robin Booth.
* A list of a few of my soccer hero's: Ruud Gullit, Manager Brian
Clough, Mr. Jack Hermanns, Alan Shearer, Dennis Bergkamp and of
course, Pele'.
* A few of those people that have been inspirational to me in my
life: Mr. Steve Bartkowski, Mr. Dan Reeves, the always smiling Billy
'White shoes' Johnson (all of NFL fame), musician Justin Hayward, Mr
Bob Rudicill, Mr. Fred Lehman, and my Dad! |
